ST. DOROTHY SERVICE CORPS

7TH AND 8TH GRADERS OF ST. DOROTHY SCHOOL

October 2009

We invite and encourage your children to join the St. Dorothy Service Corps in order to serve others in Christ. We have a great year planned, with many activities that will engage your children in providing service to others in need, both within our own parish, as well as within our surrounding community.

Please review the service projects below with your child to determine how many activities your child would like to participate in during this academic year. We will be visiting the 7th and 8th grade classes mid-October to explain what the service corps does and how they can help us serve others.

Some of the service projects we have planned include:

• Fall clean-up to assist our elderly and/or sick parishioners.
• Kiera's Love from Above in remembrance of an angel in Heaven. We will collect and donate stocking stuffers with baby items.
• Downs Syndrome Interest Group Family Fun Walk
• Painting and cleaning of one of our special education schools within the archdiocese.
• Ronald McDonald House
• Aid for Friends
• Don Guanella Activities
• St. Dots Challenge 
• Mercy Neighborhood Ministry

Prior to each activity, we will return to school to provide additional details, as well as to encourage participation. We hope to see your children throughout the year and we encourage them to participate in all activities, if possible!
