The 2010-2011 School Forms are now available.

Click HERE to download and print the forms.

Please note that there will be no stationery sale in the gym this year as in previous years.  We are in the process of reducing the stationery supplies that the school purchases so parents can take advantage of buying copybooks and other school supplies on sale at other stores.

Only the items listed on your child’s supply list that specifically say “to be purchased through school” will be available in September.  The teachers will give out those specific items in their classrooms and will let you know the amount due for those items.  Exact change or a check made out to St. Dorothy’s School will be needed.

Limited stationery items will be on sale on Mondays throughout the year and can be ordered using the 2010-2011 Stationery Order Form on our school website.

 ST. DOROTHY SCHOOL NEWS

Welcome to all returning and new students.  We are looking forward to another fruitful and exciting school year.

Our school will open on Wednesday, September 8, at 7:50 a.m. for students in grades one through eight.  Uniforms are to be worn the first day.  Summer uniforms, consisting of golf shirt and shorts, may be worn. Dismissal will be at 2:45 on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday September 8, 9, 10.  The children will have to bring lunch on those days, or they may purchase a slice of pizza, bottled water and a snack for $3.00.  The pizza lunch will also be available for purchase on September 13, 15 and 17.

All students in grades 2-6 who are new to our school are asked to report to the office where members of our Student Council will welcome them and escort them to their homeroom lines.  Students entering first grade are to be brought directly to their classroom, as indicated in the letter from the teachers.  Returning students are to come directly to the gym and line up in the area marking their new grade.

You are invited to join us as we open school with a special liturgy on Friday, September 10 at 9:00 a.m. Confessions for students in grades 3 through 8 will be held on Friday, September 17, at 1:00 p.m.

Friday, September 10 will be a special day for the youngest members of our school community.  An orientation will be held for the Kindergarten children and their parents.  Additional information will be provided to Kindergarten families.

The first day of Kindergarten will be Monday September 13, which will be a full day.  CARES, the after school program, will also begin on this date.

Back-to-school nights will be held on Monday, September 13 for parents of students in  grades 1 through 4 and on Monday, September 20 for parents of students in grades K and 5 through 8.  Both meetings will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the gym.
