June 17, 2010 Dear Parents, Tomorrow, we will have our closing liturgy at 9:00 a.m. Please feel free to join us if you are available. Following the liturgy, the children will return to their classrooms for their report cards and then they will be dismissed. Miss Capra, our 3rd grade teacher who was out on sick leave for the past 1 ½ years, has retired from teaching after 46 years with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. We wish her well as she moves on to another stage in her life. Miss Megan Flynn has been hired as the 3rd grade teacher. Megan recently graduated from St. Joseph’s University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She is a certified teacher. Megan student taught in Kindergarten at St. Dorothy’s this past Fall and was given an outstanding recommendation from Miss Benedict, her cooperating teacher. I am thrilled to inform you that Mrs. Beth Anne Gallagher, our 6th grade teacher who was diagnosed with breast cancer last summer and underwent treatment during this school year, will be returning. Mrs. Gallagher is appreciative of the support she received from our community and below is a note she asked me to pass on to you. Dear Faculty, Staff, Students, Parents, and Parish Families of St. Dorothy, I want to sincerely thank all of you for your outpouring of love, support, prayers, and compassion over the past year!! Your kindness will always hold a special place in my heart. I feel very lucky and blessed to be surrounded by such loving support. Thank you for making what should have been one of the worst years of my life, one of the best!
