CLASS TRIP CHAPERONE
Throughout the school year parents will be contacted by the child's teacher or possibly the parent homeroom representative asking for volunteers to accompany and chaperone students on a variety of educational experiences off of school grounds. All chaperones must have their volunteer clearances up to date and on file at the Rectory.

CHRISTMAS ELF FUND COLLECTION COORDINATOR/HELPERS
Contributions are collected and distributed as a cash gift to the grade level teachers as well as art, gym, music and Spanish teachers, classroom aides and administration for the Christmas holiday. This colllection is completely optional.

HOME AND SCHOOL ASSOCIATION
The Executive Board of the Home and School Association is a parent volunteer organization which works together with the principal, the faculty and the parents of Saint Dorothy. The Home and School offers and provides support academically and spiritually by helping to create experiences which benefit our children. The board is responsible for promoting and sponsoring parent-school activities and assists in providing educational materials and opportunities to maintain and improve the quality of educational program. The following elected officers run for a 2 year term: President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Treasurer
HOMEROOM PARENT REPRESENTATIVE
The homeroom parent representative is a volunteer position in which you will help the clasroom teacher, as needed, by communicating with the families in your child's homeroom. This is a coordinator position (please note: you do not need to be available during school hours to volunteer as a homeroom rep). Main responsibilites may include sending emails on behalf of the homeroom teacher when parent volunteers are needed, requesting project materials to be sent into school, or request help/supplies as classroom parties are approaching. The homeroom parent representative is also in charge of collecting funds for the teacher's birthday and possibly coordinating a small celebration. Please submit your name at the end of the current school year to the homeroom rep main contact in order to help the following school year.

LIBRARY HELPERS
Our library is in need of volunteers to assist during each grade's designated class period. Please consider signing up for your child's 30 minute time slot or any time listed to help re-shelve returned books: Sign up genius to be published

LUNCHROOM/RECESS MONITOR
We are always in need of parent lunchroom and recess monitors. All monitors are eligible to receive a monthly stipend based on the amount of days available to help and must have all volunteer clearances up to date. Lunch monitors must be signed in by 11:45 in the main school office and available until all lunch periods are over at 12:45pm.

PHOTOCOPY HELPERS
Throughout the school year parents may be contacted by the child's teacher or parent homeroom representative asking for volunteers to assist making photocopies when the classroom teacher is unable to finish this extra work during the teacher prep period.

PRETZEL SNACK COORDINATOR/HELPERS
Volunteers bag the pretzel order for each classroom in the gym kitchen. Students from each classroom will pick up the pretzels from the kitchen.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR
The annual book fair kicks off each year on the Sunday of Catholic Schools Week in library. Volunteers are needed to assist during the week when each class visits.

SCHOOL HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE
The hospitality committee assits with a number of social and educational events throughout the school year. Responsibilites may include picking up food items for events, serving beverages to our vistors during Grandparents/Special Persons Day and Young authors day, etc. Help is mostly needed during school hours, but there are also opportunities to help set up for events in the evening.

UNIFORM CLOSET AND LOST & FOUND
The Lost & Found box is located in the Annex lunchroom which holds misplaced items collected throughout the school and grounds. Any unclaimed items at the end of each trimester are donated to a local charity.
Unclaimed uniforms that are not labeled, but in good condition are moved to the uniform resale closet in the Annex which is located outside the church stairwell opposite the boys bathroom. Each item is sold for $1. Clean uniforms may also be donated (only current school year styles without rips or stains are accepted). When you donate uniforms for re-sale please hang them in the closet according to size. All money from purchases should be placed in an envelope and sent to the Home & School mailbox in the main school office. These proceeds benefit the St. Dorothy Family to Family Ministry which comes to the aid families facing an unforseen difficulty or crisis in our parish.

VOLUNTEER NURSES
Registered Nurses who are willing to volunteer their services for any amount of time when the part-time nurse is not available are most appreciated. Please contact the school office for further information.
