Week of : 5/12

Math: We are working in chapter 12, reviewing place value and learning how to subtract double digit numbers (without regrouping).

Fundations: Unit 10 - We are continuing to learning about closed syllables. We will be introduced to open syllables. We will begin working on words with five sounds. We will continue to learn how to tap words to read and spell.

ELA - Unit 5 Week 5:
Phonics - We are learning the vowel teams oi and oy. We will spell and read words with oi and oy. We are learning final stable syllables.
Reading - The comprehension focus is on cause and effect. The genre we are focusing on is non-fiction. We will be reading stories this week and discussing non-fiction characteristics and the cause and effects of events.
High Frequence Words: above, build, fall, knew, money, toward
Writing and Grammar: We are continuously focusing on the characteristics of a sentence and adding details. We are working on our class book. We are also learning adjectives a, an, this, and that.


Religion: Our Parish Family

Science/Social Studies: Scholastic News / We are continuously working on our animal research project.
